Style & the Bride’s Guide (Part Two)To The White Gallery London 2017

I was unable to fit all my photographs from The White Gallery London into one blog post, hence part two today. Do take a look at yesterday’s blog post, which featured some incredible designers from the show.
As well as taking time to visit many exhibitors at The White Gallery, I was also invited along to Sassi Holford’s catwalk show, showcasing her latest 2018 creations. Although she has been designing for many years, her latest collection more than demonstrated how in tune she is with designing for the contemporary bride. As well as beautifully romantic dresses, there were also some very contemporary designs too. I couldn’t help but be drawn to three of her models sashaying down the catwalk. All of these designs were very ‘of the moment’ and perfect for the bride who wants to look stylish and fashion forward.
Although designers are usually incredibly busy talking to prospective retailers at The White Gallery, I was delighted to stop by Savannah Miller’s stand and have a quick chat with the delightful designer. All I can say about her collection is that it is a dream come true for bohemian brides. Savannah, who has worked for the likes of the late Alexander McQueen and Matthew Williamson, went on to launch her own label Twenty8Twelve with her actress sister Sienna Miller. She has now branched out into the world of bridal, and I couldn’t be more delighted that she has. Her dresses are available in London at The Wedding Club.
If you are a bride to be who is fretting about to wear over her gown on the way to your ceremony, fret no more. For many years, there were not many options when it came to bridal jackets/cardigans for brides. All too often, they had to resort to borrowing someone’s 10 year old pashmina, or wearing a very ‘un bridal’ jacket over their dress. However, thanks to Savin London, this is no longer the case. As well as gorgeous dresses, they have created some incredible jackets, embroidered with flowers, that you just won’t be able to resist.
For those of you who have still haven’t found the perfect flower girl dresses, I suggest you take a look at the designs of Nicki Macfarlane. Nicki designed the flower girl dresses for the Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding and they were simply exquisite. I am hoping to see Princess Charlotte wearing one of her dresses at her aunt Pippa Middleton’s wedding this coming weekend.
Another designer that I know all you bohemian brides are going to adore is Swedish based Zetterberg Couture.
I also had the pleasure of chatting to designer Sabina Motasem at the White Gallery London. Her dresses ooze glamour and sophistication. My eyes couldn’t help but notice a gold dress covered in sequins. Perfect for the bride who doesn’t want to wear white… Or perhaps a dress to change into at your reception?
Another designer who caught my idea at the White Gallery London was Cardiff based Amy Mair of Amy Mair Couture. Her floral dress was an absolute delight, as were her other elegant dresses. Definitely one to watch.
I have long been a fan of USA based designer Jenny Yoo, so I of course was only too happy to take a look at her designs for brides and bridesmaids. Her wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses are feminine and very fashionable. I am also a big fan of her gorgeous bridesmaid dresses, they are just so pretty.
If you haven’t yet thought about wedding shoes for your dress, I urge you not to leave finding them until the last minute. Wedding shoes are as much part of your overall look as your veil and tiara. I am noticing that more and more brides are opting for pale pink and off white shoes for their wedding rather than very ‘bridal’ white ones. If you like the idea of wearing your wedding shoes more than just once, then consider a pair in a pastel shade or an off white colour. Rachel Simpson had plenty on offer at the White Gallery London.
What is it about the French and style? French women seem to be innately stylish when it comes to every aspect of their wardrobe. It is therefore no surprise that the designs by Atelier Emelia Paris are super stylish. They are perfect for the sophisticated bride and the sophisticated mother of the bride.
If you are a bride to be who wants a dress that belongs to a bygone era, Eliza Jane Howell is the designer for you. Think Daisy Buchanan in The Great Gatsby and you get the picture. Perfect for those of you who love the idea of wearing a vintage style dress.
Another name to look out for is Rasha London. Rasha graduated with BA (Hons) from Central Saint Martins in 2003 where she studied Design for Performance, specialising in costume and set design, for film and theatre, and this is very evident in her modern and fashion forward designs.
