The Pick Of The Best Destination & Beach Wedding Dresses

The stunning Alexa from Stephanie Allin.

You are certain of one thing. You are not planning a UK wedding, but one abroad. Without doubt, you need to start looking for destination & beach wedding dresses as soon as possible. However, how easy is it? Well, with the right help and guidance, it really is not that difficult. However, it is important too to ask for advice when you go see a bridal boutique or wedding dress designer. If you are purchasing your dress from a bridal boutique, talk to the consultants there about where your wedding is taking place and what would they recommend for a destination or beach wedding.

However, before you even go wedding dress shopping for the first time, make sure you read these tips about destination & beach wedding dresses from Style & the Bride.

Tips for destination & beach wedding dresses

1. Opt for lighter fabrics

You may have always dreamed of marrying in a princess style bridal gown in a heavy fabric, but is it really practical for a beach wedding? The obvious answer is no. You must look for wedding dresses in lighter fabrics, which will give you a bit more air. Think floaty and feminine, and you get the picture.

2. Think about transportation

Obviously the heavier the dress, the more difficult it will be to transport. You don’t want to get to your destination wedding to discover that your dress is very creased and requires hours of steaming.

3. Ask friends or family for advice

If you know of a family member who has got married abroad, ask her for advice. Perhaps she chose a dress that was not ideal for a destination wedding? If this was the case, ask her to explain what was wrong with the dress. If a friend has married abroad and chosen a dress that she loved, also ask her what made her gown perfect for a destination wedding.

4. Think about your accessories…

Don’t fall in love with a pair of kitten heels if they are not practical. If you are getting married on the beach, you might want to consider flip flops. Also, a veil might not be practical either.
