Sara’s beautiful wedding dress was by Reem Acra. Sara had a very clear idea when it came to her hair and make up. It was done by local make up artist Kaeli Stuart and hair by Jessica M of Hedkandi. ‘I wanted to look like myself, just a slightly more sophisticated version,’ Sara says. Are you planning a vintage wedding? You can’t help but adore Sara and Robert’s seriously stylish vintage style garden party wedding, photographed by Gary Ashley of The Wedding Artists Collective. The couple, who married on August 17th 2013 in their backyard, had a wedding planner, Joyce Tai of Urban Vogue, who did a fabulous job at interpreting the couple’s wishes for their big day. ‘Joyce helped me execute everything and really understood and shared our vision,’ explains Sara. ‘It was all very sweet, natural and inviting. We very much wanted our guests to enjoy themselves.’
Some of my personal highlights from Sara and Robert’s wedding include Sara’s elegant hair and make-up, the seriously gorgeous pink wedding cake, the beyond exquisite table decor and beautiful vintage style flowers and details. Sara said that she spent more time on her wedding invitations than anything else. Sara worked with an artist Allie Ruth in America. ‘We selected vintage garden rose wallpaper, combined with lovely calligraphy and samples from garden books,’ she says. According to Sara, the table making affair was a huge family effort weeks before the wedding. They put up a 70 ft tent for dinner and built and finished 16 farm style tables and chandeliers for candlelight dining.

I an a big fan of the vintage style tins the couple used at their reception. ‘Our florals were garden roses, cabbage roses, astibe and spray roses,’ says Sara. ‘I love rose gardens and although my garden is still in early stages, I wanted our garden to reflect this aesthetic,’ says Sara. ‘We spent months planting and tending to our garden to prepare.’
