An Absolutely Gorgeous Rustic Countryside Wedding In Gloucestershire
5th October 2017

I can never resist a rustic countryside wedding, particularly when it is as gorgeous as Lisa and Andy’s big day. The couple married on the 29th July 2017 at Owlpen Manor on Gloucestershire.
Although the couple looked at a few venues, they knew that Owlpen Manor was right for them. ‘Owlpen Manor is just a gorgeous, hidden gem nestled in the Cotswolds’ countryside and we both fell in love with the setting,’ says Lisa. ‘It felt like it was secret and all ours for the weekend!’ Lisa and Andy did not have a official wedding planner, but were helped by Bella Wadsworth, the planner attached to the venue.
The couple’s florist, The Lily Pad Florist, ensured that all the flowers suited their rustic countryside wedding setting. ‘We loved the clusters of wild flowers along the tables and hung from the sides of the marquee, it was very simple but really pretty,’ says Lisa.
Both Lisa and Andy were very keen that their rustic countryside wedding was informal and a fun day for all their family and friends. Lisa’s elegant lace dress worked well with the setting, and I loved the bridesmaids’ Coast dresses in silver.
According to Lisa, the advice she would give to future brides is ‘give yourself a minute to step back and look around you on the day.’ This is great advice and one that I hear a lot from brides, as well as grooms. Your wedding day goes by so quickly that it is important to take a minute or five to enjoy and appreciate your wedding day.
For Lisa, the biggest surprise on the day was feeling completely overwhelmed by how much love they felt around them. How lovely is that?
Lisa and Andy’s rustic countryside wedding was photographed by Jonny Barratt Photography. When it came to their wedding photography, Lisa wanted ‘a natural and vivid narrative of their day.’ Lisa was more than impressed by with what Jonny offered. ‘Jonny totally delivered and was friendly and has a really easy going manner,’ says Lisa. ‘We got fantastic photographs.’
