Are you a London bride to be who hasn’t decided on her wedding venue yet? If the answer is yes, Style & the Bride loves the idea of you having a restaurant wedding. A restaurant wedding is perfect for couples who are foodies and want their meal to be a big part of their whole day. Now, if you want your restaurant wedding to be really special, how about having it in a Gordon Ramsay restaurant? The group has an incredible 14 venues to choose from, depending on the style of wedding you are after. Some of their London wedding venues you can choose from include the York & Albany (a regency townhouse overlooking Regent’s Park), London House (in leafy Battersea Square), the iconic Savoy Grill at The Savoy hotel and The Narrow in Limehouse.
I recently caught up with the Gordon Ramsay Group to ask them amongst other things, which restaurant would they suggest for an intimate wedding, why they think restaurant weddings are becoming more popular, and if you can have a food tasting if you decide to have your wedding at a Gordon Ramsay restaurant.
If you are a city bride and love eating out, it makes perfect sense to have your wedding reception at your favourite restaurant. When it comes to having your wedding at a Gordon Ramsay restaurant, are couples able to personalise their wedding menu or are their set menus for weddings?
Yes of course! Being a Gordon Ramsay Restaurant we want the food to be key element of your event. We invite our prospective clients to meet with our team of chefs to go over their menu wishes to create something completely bespoke for their event. We offer tastings in our wedding packages to ensure our guests are completely satisfied with their menu.
Are couples able to go for a food tasting at Gordon Ramsay restaurants?
Yes we have a wedding package available for guests which includes a tasting.
If you are planning an intimate restaurant wedding where you can also hold a ceremony, would you suggest the York & Albany? I understand you also have nine bedrooms there, so this is a possibility if you are looking for a place to stay for any couples coming from overseas or out of London?
Yes definitely – whether you’re coming from overseas or are local to London the boutique hotel allows you to make a nice weekend out of your wedding celebration and have your loved ones close by. We often recommend for brides to book our suite room where they can relax and get ready for their wedding ceremony and not have to worry about any transportation. This venue has many possible event spaces that work for all elements of your wedding day – ceremony , canapé and bubbly reception in the bar, wedding lunch in the private dining room, and then you can carry on the celebration in our wine bar until late. Exclusive use of the venue is also possible for a wedding event.
Why do you think restaurant weddings are becoming more popular?
I think that food is such an important element in a wedding celebration that it just seems like a perfect match to have your wedding in a restaurant setting. A restaurant is an intimate environment where you can celebrate the most important day of your life with loved ones and work with a team of industry experts who are there to fulfil all your expectations. I think what makes a restaurant wedding very popular for some couples is eliminating any stress when planning a event. Logistics in brining all elements together from different suppliers can sometimes be stressful for a couple without hiring an event planner – when planning a wedding at a restaurant you have all elements in one location which makes the planning process stress free especially with the entire restaurant team available to look after your special event.
Please can you tell me a bit more about the other restaurants in the Gordon Ramsay group where you can hold weddings? Do you think there are specific restaurants that suit particular types of couples I.e. perhaps The Savoy Grill is right for couples who love the idea of an art deco style wedding?

As well as the food being an important factor at a restaurant wedding, I am sure couples can also have the benefit of expert advice from your sommeliers, is this correct?
Our Sommeliers and Mixologists will work with you to create perfect pairings to your menu. What’s also very popular is creating signature drinks that reflect the couples favourite flavours or colours.
If a couple decides to have their wedding at a Gordon Ramsay restaurant, would they be appointed a specific wedding coordinator?
Yes you will have a wedding expert looking after your event who is passionate about weddings and will recommend great ideas to help make this event unique to you.
Is the wedding coordinator/planner able to advise on other wedding suppliers such as florists?
Yes we are happy to recommend preferred supplier list to our clients as well as open to working with all industry professionals.
Is it possible to have a disco/DJ at an evening wedding reception at one of Gordon Ramsay’s restaurants?
