How To Create An Understated Luxury Wedding Reception

This lace Ritva Westenius dress works beautifully with the colour gold.

Do you love the idea of having a luxury wedding reception, but are unsure how to realise your vision? Or are you unsure of the colour palette or style to choose for a luxury wedding? If you need help on how to create an understated luxury wedding reception, I am in no doubt that this stylish shoot by Afmena Events will inspire you. The photo shoot took place at the stately home York House, a 17th century building in Twickenham and was photographed by Beatrici Photography.

The luxury wedding feel to the shoot was created by using a mix of crushed velvet linen, floral detailing, and the colour gold. If you were to ask me the one colour I would definitely suggest you go for if you want to create a luxury wedding reception it is without a doubt, gold. It looks (in my opinion) very elegant when teamed with whites and creams. It takes on a softer feel if combined with pink, and for more of a dramatic look, I would suggest you opt for deeper reds. Now, as to whether gold is more suited to autumn and winter weddings or spring and summer weddings, I personally believe it can work all year round. However, if I was to have a seasonal preference, it would have to be winter. When it is freezing cold and grey outside, coming inside to a gold wedding reception will immediately lift everyone’s spirits. Add lots of candles into the mix, and you will have one glamorous celebration!
