My Highlights From The National Wedding Show 2017 at London’s Olympia

This is Poppy Dover's gorgeous Bow Bounce dress.

This blog post is literally hot off the press, and I mean literally.

I rushed up this morning to attend the champagne press preview of some of the designers taking to the Revlon Runway at The National Wedding Show 2017 at London’s Olympia.

The show opened today at midday and is taking place at Olympia until the 19th February. It then moves on to Birmingham from the 3rd to the 5th March before Manchester, the show there takes place from the 11th to the 12th March.

Anyway, back to my highlights from The National Wedding Show 2017 at London’s Olympia. First things first. I thoroughly enjoyed the press preview and the models showcasing some of the designers exhibiting at the show. The reason why I liked it so much was because it was intimate and I was able to really take a look at the outfits.

The first dress to appear on the catwalk was a frothy strapless creation by Ted Baker London. Very feminine, and perfect for girly brides.

Next out were two outfits from Poppy Dover. You may recognise one of the outfits, the ‘Bow Bounce’ dress from my post about Poppy’s new Love Rules collection. Take a look at the post by clicking here. The other outfit was a a gorgeous jumpsuit and jacket, ideal for the bride who is looking for a chic registry office outfit.

After the catwalk preview, I headed out to take a look around at all the rest of the exhibitor stands. Impressed by what I had seen on offer at Ted Baker London, I headed to their stand. What caught my eye was a very cute short strapless dress and jacket. There was also a very elegant groom’s suit alongside a grecian style dress that would suit a glamorous city wedding.

If you are after stylish bridesmaids dresses, I would advise you to take a look at the range No.1 Jenny Packham, available at Debenhams. I particularly liked all the sequin dresses on offer, so glam, and so very of the moment.

I also made a pit stop at Poppy Dover, her stand felt so serene, and calm. I would definitely recommend you take a look at it if you are attending The National Wedding Show 2017 this weekend.

For those of you who are in need of bridal hair accessories and looking for something a bit different, do check out Nichola Ruby. I am a big fan of her goddess style gold headdresses.

If you have found your dress, and hair accessories, but are still in need of a cake, do take a look at Little Cedars Bakehouse. They have very pretty floral creations to choose from. Another cake company who were exhibiting for the first time were Oh So Delicious. I particularly liked their blue and gold cake, as well as their midnight blue and gold cake. I definitely think the colour blue is a very popular choice for wedding cakes in 2017.

Just as I was about to head out, I couldn’t not stop and take a look at Phillip Corps Flowers. His stand felt like ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream, full of fruits, foliage and country style flowers. If you are a boho bride and are getting married in the country, do make sure you take a look at his incredible displays.

If you haven’t been to a wedding show before and are going for the first time this weekend, let me give you some advice. Don’t expect to find everything for your dream wedding in two or three hours. Take your time and enjoy the day. Don’t feel rushed, this is not how a bride to be should be feeling. If you feel relaxed, you will not only enjoy the day, but end up probably finding some of your big day suppliers.
