I am so excited to share with you Holly and Jake’s gloriously glamorous glamping wedding. When Holly emailed me some photographs to show me a taster of her wedding, I just knew I had to feature it.
I love everything about this glamping wedding! From Holly’s beyond stunning Emma Victoria Payne wedding dress to the gorgeous wedding flowers by Foxgloves and Glory, you can’t help but be captivated by their big day. The couple got married on the 25th June 2016 at the home of Holly’s parents in West Melbury, Dorset.
Holly and Jake first met at a nightclub in London when they were at university. They dated for seven and half years before Jake proposed. According to Holly, the proposal was very romantic, and I couldn’t agree more. ‘It was planned with the help of the friend that had introduced us’, says Holly. ‘I was due to fly to Sri Lanka for five weeks last summer for work. Jake conceived this plan to get me back to the night club where we had met the day before I was due to fly away… on a Tuesday lunch time! When I arrived, a guy who I thought was the manager came over. He started chatting to us about our musical likes and dislikes. He then started singing Al Green’s ‘Let’s Stay Together.’ When he finished, Jake got down on one knee and poured his heart out. I was bowled over.’
When it came to her wedding dress, Holly knew that she didn’t want a gown in white or cream. ‘I drew up some ideas based on Valentino’s couture dresses from SS15. I then caame up with a bespoke design with Emma Victoria Payne,’ says Holly. ‘It was really important to me that the dress would fit the surroundings. As we got married in a country church, I wanted it to complement the church and not clash with it. The real eye turner of the dress was the train, which had beautiful red and pink flowers on the hem and up the centre.’
Holly kept her accessories simple and chose a delicate gold and diamond floral tiara from Ivory & Co. Her godmother loaned her some diamond flower stud earrings, and Holly wore suede pink low block heel sandals by MIU MIU. She also wore a light champagne coloured veil that worked well with the dress Later on in the evening, Holly wore a pink flower crown that she kept on all weekend.
Holly and Jake decided to have their wedding on the same weekend as Glastonbury, which was just down the road from them. They had on site glamping for all their guests, just perfect for their glamorous glamping wedding. Their big day was beautifully photographed by Jay Rowden and was planned by Georgie Maytum and Izzy Hexter
