If you are planning an Autumn wedding, I am certain you will find many ideas to take away from the beautiful and classic autumn wedding of Elly and Dean. The couple married on Saturday the 8th October 2016 at The Old Vicarage Boutique hotel in Southwell, Nottinghamshire.
Elly and Dean first met at a pub when Elly was on her holidays from Australia in the UK. ‘It was a few years before we had contact again and quickly became inseparable, ‘says Elly.
The couple dated for three years before getting engaged. ‘One night over a glass of wine in our beautiful garden, he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife as he could not imagine living the rest of his days without me,’ explains Elly. ‘He then produced the most stunning ring I had ever seen.’ He had designed it and had it made for me in Excel Jewellery in Nottingham.’
For their classic Autumn wedding, Elly and Dean chose deep reds and purples for their colours, alongside leafy greens. Scrumpy’s Flowers was responsible for the couple’s beautiful flowers, they included Elly’s bouquet of black Baccara roses and black Cala lilies. The bouquet also featured small cream roses, eucalyptus, and trailing ivy.
For those of you who think you can’t opt for a dramatic make-up look for your big day, think again. I love the fact that Elly went for a smokey eye and a deep red lip. Her close friend Rhian did her hair and Elly did her own make-up.
As Elly and Dean both love cheese, they opted for a tower of cheese instead of a wedding cake. Elly bought six wheels of cheese from The Cheese Shop in Nottingham, Elly’s mum and her decorated them with grapes, roses and ivy.
According to Elly, the highlight of her day was walking down the aisle with her brother and seeing her ‘gorgeous husband at the end crying his eyes out.’
Elly and Dean’s beautiful wedding was photographed by Sarah Folega. ‘Her photos were so candid, and she managed to capture all of the perfect moments so well,’ says Elly.
