Wedding Receptions & Décor

Wedding Receptions & Décor – Once your wedding ceremony is over, your thoughts will turn to the all-important wedding reception. As every former bride will tell you, if the food and drink or entertainment isn’t exactly right, then your guests will remember your wedding for all the wrong reasons, instead of for all the right reasons! It is incredibly important that the wedding caterer you use understands the type of style and food you want. If you’re having an incredibly formal black tie wedding, then a buffet is not at all suitable. If on the other hand, you like the idea of a more casual, laid back affair, then food stations with different variety of cuisines, might be more suitable.

Flowers of course can create the wow factor at your wedding reception, but again, they have to suit the style of wedding you are having. For vintage wedding receptions, mismatched jars of wild flowers would look beautiful. If on the other hand, you are having a city wedding, go for something modern such as anemones in contemporary clear glass or black containers. When it comes to wedding entertainment, you again have to think about the style of wedding you are having, as well as the music you both enjoy listening to. If you are having an intimate wedding, a DJ might be worth considering. If on the other hand, a couple of hundred people are coming to your big day, a big band might be more suitable.

And of course, don’t forget about the all-important wedding cake. Do you love the idea of a ‘naked wedding cake, ‘ in other words a cake that is not iced etc.? Or perhaps you prefer more of an ornate design? If you can’t resist sweet things, you might like the idea of not only a wedding cake, but a dessert table too!
