The Most Beautiful And Unusual Wedding Dresses For 2017

This is the stunning Stargrove dress by Calire La Faye. Photograph by Donny Zavala. This dress is available at Heart Aflutter boutique.

I often find it concerning when I hear that brides to be are struggling when it comes to finding their dream dress. I genuinely get upset as I know there are so many incredible wedding dresses out there for them to choose from.

If you consider yourself one of these brides to be, I have written this blog post with specifically you in mind. I have focused on the most beautiful and unusual wedding dresses for 2017. Unusual can mean many different things to people. For some, it can be the opposite of traditional. For others, it can mean slightly strange. The dictionary defines unusual as remarkable or interesting because it is different from or better than others.

My personal interpretation of unusual wedding dresses are bridal dresses that are not perceived as traditional. I however, don’t seem them in any way as strange. Unusual wedding dresses are without doubt for brides looking for something a bit different. Perhaps you are a bride to be who has never dreamed of getting married? When your partner proposed, were you over the moon? I am sure you were elated. However, were you at the same terrified at the prospect of wedding dress shopping? Believe me, you are not alone. I know that some women are simply overwhelmed at becoming a bride to be, and this is completely natural.

When children are at school, everyone wants to be the same, and few want to stand out for being different. In fact all too often, children are mocked and bullied for not conforming. In many ways, this continues through to later life…. Don’t think just because you are engaged that you have to conform to a stereotype of what a bride should act like and wear.

I like this quote by the American author Irving Wallace.

‘To be one’s self and unafraid whether right or wrong, is more admirable than the easy cowardice of surrender to conformity.’

Sorry for getting so deep, but I think you can most definitely apply the above quote to being a bride. It is so easy to be pressurised by family and friends into making decisions when it comes to your wedding that you will regret. The same principle apples to wedding dress shopping. Your mother may think the only dress you should wear is a simple, strapless bridal gown, but she isn’t right. It is YOUR wedding day, so please make sure you love the dress you choose.
