Welcome to the UK's most stylish wedding blog

I am so excited to share my passion for the world of bridal with you, my fashionable bride-to-be’s. I am dedicated to sharing with you the latest wedding fashion trends, the most beautiful real weddings, inspirational receptions, gorgeous hair and beauty ideas, dream honeymoons and much, much more.

To give you a bit of background on myself, I got my first taste of weddings at the tender age of 23 when I was lucky enough to attend the A-list celebrity wedding of Victoria and David Beckham. I didn’t realise it at the time but the Beckham wedding ignited my passion for the wedding industry.

After editing Cosmopolitan Bride magazine, and freelancing for national bridal and non-bridal magazines, I decided to launch Style & the Bride.

I know that you are about to embark on one of the most exciting times of your life. My aim is to help you achieve the most incredible wedding day, your style, your way.

A Stunning And Magical Winter Wonderland Wedding In Dorset

Spring may just have started in the UK, but I know there are plenty of you out there who are planning a winter wedding. If you are, then you are in luck today. I am sharing Emma and Jonathan’s magical winter wonderland wedding in Dorset. The couple’s wedding ceremony took place at Romsey Abbey on the 22nd December 2016, followed by a reception at Sopley Mill in Dorset.

The couple first met at work and dated for six years before Jonathan proposed on the weekend of their 6th anniversary. Jonathan hadn’t been to work one day, but had instead spent the day decorating their flat with memories he had kept over the last six years. ‘He handed me an anniversary card which at the bottom said, ‘I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you,” explains Emma. ‘When I stopped reading and looked up, he was on one knee and asked me to marry him. Getting engaged in the flat meant a lot as it was our first home together and we had spent so much time and love renovating it.’

Emma found her Persiphone Wtoo by Watters dress at Hannah Elizabeth Bridal and it was perfect for her magical winter wonderland wedding. Her shoes were Jimmy Choo Romy 100 Platinum Ice, Her headpiece and jewellery were made by her mother (Lynne Dadley from Bright Rocks) from real gemstones and pearls bespoke to Emma’s design ideas.

Everything about Emma and Jonathan’s day revolved around their magical winter wonderland wedding theme. They had logs and pine cones with fairy lights, snowflake and lanterns decorating Sopley Mill. A stag and doe were on their invitations, which were handmade with the help of Jonathan’s parents.

The couple’s flowers by Little Lillies all had a grey silver or white theme, and included mistletoe rosemary and eucalyptus in the foliage. The table decorations featured large wood bases with moss, and sandblasted manzanita trees  on top with clear glass baubles with tea lights.

Emma’s bridesmaids wore matching grey dresses from Mint Velvet. They all wore matching jewellery (pearl earrings and bracelets made by Emma’s mother.

A family friend, Pauline Mitchell, iced their wedding cake and made the lemon layer. However, Jonathan’s mum, Wyn made the carrot cake layer and the top layer of fruit cake, which the couple have kept.

According to Emma, there were so many highlights to recall from their magical winter wonderland wedding. ‘If I am pushed to name one, it would be to our last dance of the day which was to Fairytale in New York by The Pogues. ‘At this moment, I had had the best day of my whole life,’ says Emma. We had all our friends in a circle around us. Instead of being sad the day was over, we couldn’t wait to start married life and the next adventure.’

Emma and Jonathan’s winter wonderland wedding was photographed by Tom and Lizzie Redman. ‘They are the best photographers ever,’ says Emma. ‘They work so well together and are both genuinely lovely people to have around.’

When it comes to advice for future brides, Emma suggests you take five minutes on your own to look in the mirror before you leave the house. ‘Its the one chance you will get on your own to take it all in.’
