Style & the Bride Logo

Welcome to the UK's most stylish wedding blog

I am so excited to share my passion for the world of bridal with you, my fashionable bride-to-be’s. I am dedicated to sharing with you the latest wedding fashion trends, the most beautiful real weddings, inspirational receptions, gorgeous hair and beauty ideas, dream honeymoons and much, much more.

To give you a bit of background on myself, I got my first taste of weddings at the tender age of 23 when I was lucky enough to attend the A-list celebrity wedding of Victoria and David Beckham. I didn’t realise it at the time but the Beckham wedding ignited my passion for the wedding industry.

After editing Cosmopolitan Bride magazine, and freelancing for national bridal and non-bridal magazines, I decided to launch Style & the Bride.

I know that you are about to embark on one of the most exciting times of your life. My aim is to help you achieve the most incredible wedding day, your style, your way.

Delicious Inspiration For Pancake Day 2017 From The Book Pancakes & Waffles

If you are looking for delicious inspiration for pancake day 2017, take a look at the book Pancake & Waffles by Hannah Miles, Ryland, Peters & Small (Photography by Steve Painter).

You may be trying to eat healthily in the lead up to your big day, which I totally understand. However, it is pancake day 2017, and you should definitely relax sometimes, and just enjoy yourself.

However, if you are trying not to indulge your sweet tooth, you might want to opt for savoury pancakes. If this is the case, take a look at the recipe for Squash & Goat’s Cheese pancakes on p24. These pancakes are perfect for a lunch or even a light supper. The pancakes are tipped with sour cream or creme fraiche and drizzled with pumpkin seed oil. Hannah suggests using a mild, creamy goat’s cheese so that the flavour is not overpowering.

If you need a caffeine kick tomorrow morning, I would suggest you make Wake Me Up Coffee pancakes on p46. The coffee syrup is made from cocoa nibs. Cocoa nibs are fermented, dried, roasted cocoa pods, which are usually ground with sugar to make chocolate. They are found at health food stores and some supermarkets, or online.

I personally love the sound of Granola pancakes with salty honey sauce. ‘These are one of my favourite breakfast pancakes,’ says Hannah. ‘They have a crunchy oaty top and are served with a delicious, buttery, honey sauce. You can also add raisins, sultanas, dried berries and cherries to the batter for an extra fruity tang.’

Another pancake recipe that is perfect for breakfast time is Buttermilk blueberry pancakes with blueberry lime sauce. To make the pancakes extra zingy, lime juice is added to the sauce. Yum yum!

Following on from the miserable weather that we experienced yesterday in the UK, I hope the weather for pancake day 2017 is even better.

I hope you have a fabulous pancake day
