Style & the Bride Logo

Welcome to the UK's most stylish wedding blog

I am so excited to share my passion for the world of bridal with you, my fashionable bride-to-be’s. I am dedicated to sharing with you the latest wedding fashion trends, the most beautiful real weddings, inspirational receptions, gorgeous hair and beauty ideas, dream honeymoons and much, much more.

To give you a bit of background on myself, I got my first taste of weddings at the tender age of 23 when I was lucky enough to attend the A-list celebrity wedding of Victoria and David Beckham. I didn’t realise it at the time but the Beckham wedding ignited my passion for the wedding industry.

After editing Cosmopolitan Bride magazine, and freelancing for national bridal and non-bridal magazines, I decided to launch Style & the Bride.

I know that you are about to embark on one of the most exciting times of your life. My aim is to help you achieve the most incredible wedding day, your style, your way.

A Dreamy Fairytale French Chateau Wedding With An Informal Feel

If you love the idea of getting married abroad, I am sure you will take many ideas away from Louise and Mark’s dreamy fairytale French chateau wedding.

The couple first met through Louise’s sister Jo and Mark’s best friend Gary, who was best man at the wedding. They dated for nine years before Mark proposed when they were driving across America in 2014.

To help plan their French chateau wedding, Louise enlisted the services of Marry Me In France. ‘She planned everything, and took the majority of the stress away,’ says Louise.

The couple were keen to create an informal feel for their celebration. ‘We wanted a garden party type feel to the occasion, and nothing too structured’ explains Louise.

Louise’s beautiful Justin Alexander gown from Puure Bride in Lymm, Cheshire, couldn’t have been more perfect for her French Chateau wedding. When it comes to advice for future brides, Louise has a few pearls of wisdom. ‘Take it all in,’ she says. ‘Do not flap. If things do go wrong, don’t worry as most guests will be none the wiser. It is also important to make time for just the two of you. I’d wish I had been more attentive to Mark as time just flies. It is about you two, not just the guests.’

Louise and Mark’s beautiful French chateau wedding was photographed by Jonny Barratt. Louise says of Jonny that he was like one of their friends when they first met him on Skype. ‘You made us both feel comfortable having our photos taken,’ says Louise. ‘Everyone commented on how great you were at your job and as a person.’

According to Louise, one moment from their wedding that will last with her forever is when they were saying vows. ‘It was also how Mark looked at me,’ says Louise.

I hope you enjoy taking a look at Louise and Mark’s French Chateau wedding.
