I am dedicated to sharing with you the latest wedding fashion trends, the most beautiful real weddings, inspirational receptions, gorgeous hair and beauty ideas, dream honeymoons and much, much more.

To give you a bit of background on myself, I got my first taste of weddings at the tender age of 23 when I was lucky enough to attend the A-list celebrity wedding of Victoria and David Beckham. I didn’t realise it at the time but the Beckham wedding ignited my passion for the wedding industry.

After editing Cosmopolitan Bride magazine, and freelancing for national bridal and non-bridal magazines, I decided to launch Style & the Bride.

I know that you are about to embark on one of the most exciting times of your life. My aim is to help you achieve the most incredible wedding day, your style, your way.

A Classic & Intimate English Country Barn Wedding In Staffordshire

I know there are so many brides and grooms out there who are going to be inspired by Natalie and Craig’s English country barn wedding in Staffordshire.

The couple married on the 25th of June 2016 at The Ashes Barns in Endon, Staffordshire. ‘We wanted somewhere that was relaxed and intimate,’ says Natalie. ‘After viewing numerous venues, we finally found The Ashes and fell in love.’

Natalie and Craig’s relationship started off as a holiday romance back in 2010 in Gran Canaria. ‘One of my best friends Alex began chatting to a group of guys next to the pool and then brought them over,’ explains Natalie. ‘At the time, I was a little annoyed as I was preoccupied reading my book, sat there with no make up on and my hair tied up. I kept myself to myself whilst they chatted amongst themselves until Craig approached me and asked me my name. I remember blushing and feeling awkward when I realised how handsome he was. He told me he knew we were going to be together. At the time, I thought it was a cheesy chat up line, but here we are seven years later, married!’

How picturesque does The Ashes look in Staffordshire?

When it came to finding a wedding dress for her country barn wedding, Natalie had fallen in love with the designer Naomi Neoh at a wedding fair back in September 2013. Natalie discovered the dress at a stand where Cicily Bridal Boutique was exhibiting.  ‘I had only been engaged for a few weeks and certainly wasn’t looking for a dress so soon,’ says Natalie. ‘However, whilst walking by the stand, a beautiful blush silk chiffon dress caught my eye. I loved how unusual it was. I had never considered a coloured dress, but it was so subtle and romantic.’

Natalie took a card of the dress and walked around with it in her bag for over twelve months.  Any dress she tried on she couldn’t stop thinking about the Naomi Neoh dress. ‘I knew I was meant to be a Naomi Neoh bride as nothing else compared and it really was love at first sight,’ explains Natalie. ‘Craig also calls me his ‘English Rose, and the dress is called Fleur, so I really felt the dress was made to be!’

For the evening reception, Natalie changed the look of her dress slightly by removing the lace jacket and rose corsage. Whilst at Cicily Bridal Boutique, Natalie had fallen in love with the Primrose Pearl beaded floral sash by Debbie Carlisle. The floral appliqué of the lace was made in blush, which worked perfectly with Natalie’s dress. For her hair, Natalie wore a rose gold and blush hair vine from Britten called ‘June.’ I felt it was meant to be,’ says Natalie. ‘We were getting married in June, and my husband’s nana who had passed away was also called June.’

Natalie wore ‘Mimosa’ Rachel Simpson shoes in mint green. ‘They were so pretty and unique that I couldn’t resist them,’ says Natalie.

According to Natalie, one of the favourite parts of planning her country barn wedding were the trips to Cicily Bridal Boutique. ‘Even though it was two hours away from where I lived, it was worth it,’ she says. ‘The boutique is so beautiful, and is definitely a place where wedding dress dreams come true.’

Natalie describes her intimate English country barn wedding as ‘relaxed’ ‘The venue was naturally beautiful and we enhanced this with floral detailing throughout,’ she explains. ‘There was hessian, twine, moss, blackboard signs, wooden logs, bunting and lots of floral detail.

Although Natalie and her husband Craig planned the wedding together, they were allocated an event coordinator Dawn at The Ashes who helped everything run smoothly.

Rose at The Topiary Tree Florist was responsible for the flowers at Natalie and Craig’s country barn wedding. ‘I had pink astilbe and a mixture of roses in my bouquet,’ says Natalie.

How pretty is Natalie’s bouquet?

Natalie’s hair and make-up was done by Gemma and Amy at ‘Dollface Make Up Studio’. ‘They understood exactly wanted I wanted, natural and romantic’ says Natalie.

The bridesmaids wore ‘Celadon’ dresses by Dessy. The couple’s pageboys were their nephews and wore chinos, white shirts, waistcoats and bow ties to tie in with the relaxed, country style of their wedding.

Natalie made sure she remembered her late Nana and grandad by placing photos of them in a ”true love story never ends” wooden frame, which was placed at the beginning of the ceremony room and later next to their table during the evening. Natalie’s aunt also surprised her with a photo charm on a silk ribbon, so she could carry them down the aisle.

The couple’s country barn wedding was photographed by Chris Chambers. ‘We loved how whimsical his photos are and how creative he is.’ says Natalie. ‘On top of that, he is such a great guy. He was laughing and joking with the guests all day and made us all feel so at ease.’

According to Natalie, her best part of the day was saying her vows to Craig. ‘I feel so lucky,’ she says. ‘Another favourite moment was the first look moment I did with my dad,’ that’s a memory I will always treasure and has been captured beautifully on film to relive again and again.’
