Style & the Bride Logo

Welcome to the UK's most stylish wedding blog

I am so excited to share my passion for the world of bridal with you, my fashionable bride-to-be’s. I am dedicated to sharing with you the latest wedding fashion trends, the most beautiful real weddings, inspirational receptions, gorgeous hair and beauty ideas, dream honeymoons and much, much more.

To give you a bit of background on myself, I got my first taste of weddings at the tender age of 23 when I was lucky enough to attend the A-list celebrity wedding of Victoria and David Beckham. I didn’t realise it at the time but the Beckham wedding ignited my passion for the wedding industry.

After editing Cosmopolitan Bride magazine, and freelancing for national bridal and non-bridal magazines, I decided to launch Style & the Bride.

I know that you are about to embark on one of the most exciting times of your life. My aim is to help you achieve the most incredible wedding day, your style, your way.

Wedding Dresses From The New Jenny Packham 2017 Bridal Collection

If you love keeping up with the latest fashion trends, I guarantee you will enjoy taking a look at the new Jenny Packham 2017 bridal collection.

For all you lucky brides to be who are getting married in 2018, the Jenny Packham 2017 bridal collection will be available internationally from August.

The new Jenny Packham 2017 bridal location was photographed on a cowboy ranch by Jane McLeish-Kelsey and features the beautiful model Caroline Corinth.

The backdrop of the midwest with the hazy sunshine was the perfect location to showcase Jenny’s new dreamy wedding dresses. The gowns, which include the Dixie, Apache, Daisy, Harmonica, Faith and Nashville gowns are all obviously named after their ‘cowboy’ midwest setting. The dresses are in a soft palette of barley, petal pink and ivory and are very feminine. They are perfect for brides looking for romantic dresses that have a ‘gypsy’ soul to them.

The beaded sleeves and cascading tiered skirts give the gowns a romantic feel yet they would still suit those of you who are looking for dresses with a modern edge too.

Now, how do you know if Jenny Packham dresses are for you or not? Well, first of all the obvious thing would be to establish if you like them or not? If you are unsure, it is important to never dismiss anything. I have lost count of the many brides I have interviewed over the years who have gone into a designer boutique with very set ideas in their head over their ‘dream wedding dress’ only to walk out with something completely different. Just because you love a particular dress/style/shape/colour, doesn’t mean it will suit you. In conclusion, when you go wedding dress shopping for the first time, it is imperative that you go with an open mind.

Now back to showcasing the beautiful dresses from the new Jenny Packham 2017 bridal collection.

For their Hindu ceremony, Jesal wore the traditional colours of red, white and green. Jignish wore a traditional outfit called a 'Kurta.'

Jesal and Jignesh had two venues to accommodate their huge elegant wedding. There are some things that never go out of fashion in the world of bridal, and one of these things is pastel bridesmaid dresses. Why Chic Brides Will Love The Amanda Wakeley 2017 Collection

Why Chic Brides Will Love The Amanda Wakeley 2017 Collection

I am in no doubt that modern brides will love the new Amanda Wakeley 2017 collection.  Amanda was inspired by the romance of the 1920s when it came to creating her 2017 bridal collection. This is demonstrated in the deco inspired beading that adorns her bias cut satin dresses. If you are planning a cathedral wedding, you are bound to be attracted to the silk...

Sunflower Wedding Ideas For A Summer Affair

The inspiration behind today's post are the beautiful sunflowers I received.

I recently received a bouquet of sunflowers, which immediately brightened my mood. I think a sunflower wedding is just perfect for a summer affair. There is something about sunflowers that immediately lifts one’s mood. They are such a ‘happy’ flower and are therefore ideal for weddings. I know sunflowers are not for everybody as they are not the chicest of blooms, but they work just so...
