Welcome to the UK's most stylish wedding blog

I am so excited to share my passion for the world of bridal with you, my fashionable bride-to-be’s. I am dedicated to sharing with you the latest wedding fashion trends, the most beautiful real weddings, inspirational receptions, gorgeous hair and beauty ideas, dream honeymoons and much, much more.

To give you a bit of background on myself, I got my first taste of weddings at the tender age of 23 when I was lucky enough to attend the A-list celebrity wedding of Victoria and David Beckham. I didn’t realise it at the time but the Beckham wedding ignited my passion for the wedding industry.

After editing Cosmopolitan Bride magazine, and freelancing for national bridal and non-bridal magazines, I decided to launch Style & the Bride.

I know that you are about to embark on one of the most exciting times of your life. My aim is to help you achieve the most incredible wedding day, your style, your way.

A Traditional And Elegant Farmhouse Wedding In North Lincolnshire

I adore the relaxed but elegant vibe of Niamh and Matt’s farmhouse wedding in North Lincolnshire. The couple met at college and dated for 10 years before getting engaged on their 10th anniversary together. Niamh and Matt had a church ceremony followed by a reception at Rookery Wolds Farm.

According to Niamh, she found her wedding dress after a two day occasion. Her Demetrious Bride dress is from Jaynes Bridal Wear in Doncaster. For her ‘something old’ and ‘something blue,’ Niamh wore her granny’s ring. Her ‘something new’ were her Jimmy Choo shoes and her dress. Niamh’s ‘something borrowed’ were earrings given to her mum by her dad for a wedding anniversary.

Niamh describes her big day as an ‘English garden party/farmhouse wedding with a traditional and elegant look.’ For those of you who like the idea of a farmhouse wedding, play particular attention to the couple’s gorgeous reception. For decoration, they had milk churns (from the family milking farm) and Niamh’s great grandma’s pickling jars, filled with flowers and tea lights. All Niamh’s family and friends contributed towards their farmhouse wedding. One of their best friends made them handmade confetti. Another friend drew maps of where they lived. The stationery was made by Niamh and Matt with help from Niamh’s family.

The couple had clearly thought about every detail.

For the couple’s farmhouse wedding, Fountain Court Florist in Epworth were responsible for the flowers. Niamh had a white peony bouquet and her bridesmaids carried a smaller version of this.

Niamh’s hair was by Rebecca McKenna, and her make-up was by her friend Pearl De Souza Towndrow. The bridesmaids wore gorgeous Dessy dresses in style 2994, the colour is Palomino.

To tie in with the farmhouse wedding theme, the favours were miniature Kilner jars filled with Cascabal honey tequila and wrapped in Jute.

The couple’s wedding cake was made by Nicola Kemshall ( the bridesmaid’s sister in law and family friend). One tier of the cake was Christmas cake, another was lemon cake and the third tier was made of chocolate cake.

Niamh and Matt’s stunning farmhouse wedding was photographed by Kindred. ‘Although we were reluctant to be dragged off the dance floor for photographs during sunset, it was so worth it,’ says Niamh. ‘They are some of my favourite photographs from the day.’
