Style & the Bride Logo

Welcome to the UK's most stylish wedding blog

I am so excited to share my passion for the world of bridal with you, my fashionable bride-to-be’s. I am dedicated to sharing with you the latest wedding fashion trends, the most beautiful real weddings, inspirational receptions, gorgeous hair and beauty ideas, dream honeymoons and much, much more.

To give you a bit of background on myself, I got my first taste of weddings at the tender age of 23 when I was lucky enough to attend the A-list celebrity wedding of Victoria and David Beckham. I didn’t realise it at the time but the Beckham wedding ignited my passion for the wedding industry.

After editing Cosmopolitan Bride magazine, and freelancing for national bridal and non-bridal magazines, I decided to launch Style & the Bride.

I know that you are about to embark on one of the most exciting times of your life. My aim is to help you achieve the most incredible wedding day, your style, your way.

The Most Sumptuous Marsala Wedding Ideas For An Autumnal Affair

Mmm, a marsala wedding? Marsala, is an earthy red wine colour that is perfect for autumnal celebrations. In case you didn’t know, marsala has become ‘en vogue’ in recent years thanks to Pantone naming it as their colour of the year in 2015.

You may be in the throes of planning an autumn wedding, but not given the colour marsala a second thought. However, I would urge you to reconsider. I personally think a marsala wedding can not only look incredibly sophisticated, but when teamed with gold and black, it can give your day a very luxury feel.

When I saw the styled photoshoot below by Kibogo Photography, I knew I had to feature it as it is inspirational. It was shot at the Brenaissance Winery in the Stellenbosch region of South Africa. ‘For me the word masala conjured up images of warm, exotic spices and a rich palette of colour, such as aubergine, earthy taupe, luxurious berry reds and bronze, ‘explains the photographer Tanja.

The wedding planner was Valery from Agape Weddings who not only styled the models, but coordinated all the suppliers. One of the models Zoe was a particular good choice for the marsala wedding photo shoot. Her raven black hair and porcelain skin looked beautiful with the marsala colours and hand beaded gown by Bo & Luca.

The marsala wedding photoshoot had a very sumptuous feel thanks to the regal gold cutlery. I also loved the use of fresh fruit such as figs, perfect for an autumn wedding.

Anyway, I shall let the images do the work… Enjoy looking at them.

He was backpacking at the time.’We always laugh because he thought he had found...
